Coach Colleen
Coach Colleen Patton Campbell is a USPTA tennis professional with thirty years of tennis teaching and playing experience in California, Hawaii, and Colorado. Colleen brings a contagious enthusiasm and a unique passion to teaching tennis.
Colleen is an accomplished tennis and pickleball coach, as well as a water fitness instructor.
As player, Colleen has competed professionally in Germany, Greece, France, Israel, and Japan, winning tournaments such as the Israel Open and the Athens Open. She has won numerous tournaments across the US including the Ojai Open, which is the longest running tennis tournament in the US. Coach Colleen played college tennis on a scholarship at the University of California Irvine, graduating with a degree in Sports Psychology. As a junior player, she was a four-year state high school champion and ranked #1 in doubles and top fifteen in singles in Southern California.
Coach Colleen’s is part of a large tennis family of tennis coaches, her husband Steve is the Director of Tennis and tennis coach, her brother Greg is a US National Coach and former D-1 coach, her nephew Garrett and niece Chelsea have coached college tennis, and her mother Rita was a college coach and was the oldest woman in US history to play college tennis at sixty-four! Her daughter Corey is a two-time singles Colorado state high school champion and former D1 college player at Boise State. Colleen loves teaching tennis or pickleball, no matter the age or ability.
In Hawaii, Colleen was the Head Girls Coach at the international boarding school, Hawaii Preparatory Academy and later at Maui Prep she was the Boy's and Girl's Head Coach. In Santa Barbara, California she was the Head Tennis Coach at the prestigious Crane School and Laguna Blanca School. Colleen has coached state high school champions, nationally ranked juniors, and numerous players that have gone on to compete collegiately.
Coach Colleen has coached at numerous college tennis camps at outstanding universities such as UC Berkeley, Stanford, and the University of California at Santa Barbara. Colleen is also a former tennis professional at the Racquet Club of Irvine, Four Seasons Biltmore, San Ysidro Ranch, Fairmont Orchid, and the Kapalua Tennis Garden. Colleen has coached extensively with the USTA: Head Coach USTA Girls 18s National’s, USTA National Challenge Cup, 12’s and 14’s Zonal Championships.
